Russian scientists have unearthed a female mammoth, complete with blood and muscle tissue. This is a very rare and excellently preserved find. You can read more about it here. Mammoth’s in particular, but artifacts in general, are already being exposed at an ever increasing rate as the ice melts, making it easier than ever for scientists to uncover the remains frozen there over 10,000 years ago. But it isn’t just scientists taking advantage of the newly exposed mammoths… their tusks are make of ivory.
